On 16 and 17 April was held in Groningen the seminar of Student Data Depositories and the annual RS3G workshop. Both events, in which SIGMA Gestión Universitaria (SIGMA) has attended, have had broad global participation with representatives from Europe, America, China and Africa.
The goal for this two day meeting is to seek common ground in best serving the academic and professional mobility needs of citizens’ worldwide.
were presented different integrated solutions for managing student information, ending the day with an opening for signature of the Groningen Declaration, by which signatories pledge to:
- Strive to phase out paper based educational data and documents
- Promote acceptance of digital student data for purpose of migration, and academic and professional recognition
- Discuss and, where possible, adopt international standards in the sphere of Digital Student Data Depositories Worldwide
- Establish Global standing secretariat on Digital Student Data Depositories Worldwide
The second day held on the new building of the Executive Education Agency of the Netherlands Ministry of Education Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO), the annual RS3G workshop.
There were workshops & plenary discussion about the adoption of standards and procedures for the exchange of data, to facilitate student mobility and lifelong learning and eliminate the barriers of the paper. Also were presented the current projects being carried out, as the mobility of students within the framework of the European Higher Education domain, developed by two universities consortium: CINECA (Italy) and MUCI (Poland), project that SIGMA Gestión Universitaria is collaborating.
