Last Thursday, November 23rd, Fundació BCN FP organized an event to celebrate its tenth anniversary at the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona.
Laia Ortiz, third lieutenant of the mayor's office and councilor of the Area of Social Rights and Pere Fábregas, vice president of the Fundación BCN Vocational Training, werlcomed the the attendees. After the presentations, John Hänsen, Head of the Department of Education and Information Technology of Mercantec (Viborg, Denmark) and Marian Chavarria, Director of the Bonanova Institute, spoke about training, innovation, values and the working realm.
After them, Pilar Pineda, professor at the UAB and Montse Blanes, Director of the BCN Vocational Training Foundation, presented the conclusions of the results obtained via discussions held during 2017 by various working groups from different sectors, and explained the challenges and future plans facing Vocational Training.
In the second part of the event, Josep Arcas and Marina Subirats, honorary patrons of the Fundación BCN FP, recalled the beginning of the project. This video showed the BCN FP Foundation, in which SIGMA participated with the collaboration of Ramón Grau, Manager of SIGMA, explaining their collaboration with them over 9 years and the benefits that have contributed to helping develop the future of professionals in the sector. We also appreciated the point of view given by Axel Lopera, currently a programmer in our company, in regards to his career since he first came as a student to join the SIGMA family.
Finally, Miquel Angel Essomba, commissioner of Education and Universities of the Barcelona City Council and Montse Blanes, director of the BCN Vocational Training Foundation, led the closure of the ceremony.
