Great success of the day with 70 people from 25 universities
The conference on Institutional Intelligence organized by CRUE-TIC on May 20th 2015 was a success of participation, with a total of 70 professionals from 25 different universities, both public and private, which shows the interest that the subject raises in our sector.
The event has been a unique opportunity to share best practices, experiences, examples of use, etc. The four presentations made in the morning session agreed that the initiative Institutional Intelligence, by their nature mainstreaming and organizational involvement, have to have the commitment at the highest level in college.
As a representant of the organization attended EUNIS ,Elsa Cardoso, presented the key success factors Institutional Intelligence projects. She used to ask attendees to participate in the new edition survey of BI maturity in universities, important to assess the state of the art in our country tool.
Although many of the universities identify the process of implementing the process of Institutional Intelligence as a key factor and there have been many who have put the initiative underway, yet there are few who can talk about real success stories. One of the main problems identified at the conference is the low penetration and makes little use to the community once the solution is deployed.
Among the most advanced universities include the Universidad de Zaragoza, who returned to show off the benefits the process has contributed in its commitment to data transparency. The solution, developed in conjunction with SIGMA, has been made available to the whole community PAS and PDI. Other universities who presented their success stories were the "Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha", "Universitat de Lleida" and the "Universidad de Cadiz".
Following the interest shown by the group, it has proposed to undertake a new meeting where issues are addressed in more detail; one of the major points for that day will be the subject of data visualization.
This issue along to incorporate the student as a user of BI systems (generating indicators of student educational applying data mining techniques and learning analytics) are the trends of greater projection at this time.
From SIGMA thank the CRUE-TIC provided the opportunity to sponsor the event.
