From the 27 to 29 of May, SIGMA attended the euroCRIS Membership Meeting to learn about the new trends, functionalities and processes of CRIS systems at European level.
In this space we were able to see the projects that are being carried out by different organizations under the claim of the event "Taking steps towards international CRIS systems". We find different interesting proposals, such as the cooperation pact of openAIRE and EuroCris with the aim of achieving greater speed and transparency in the processes of communication, research, interoperability and linking.
The publication of the OpenAIRE Guidelines for CRIS administrators was also presented, which improves the exchange of information in the individual CRIS systems, that say Germany presented its experience with CRIS and openAIRE showing clear advantages in duplication, graphics, data enrichment, relationships, connections, etc. Another important issue was the progress of the EOSC, the European Science Science Cloud of the research data of the European Commission, that have an objective for 2020: "we want all European researchers to be able to deposit, access and analyze European scientific data through a European Cloud of Open Science "(Carlos Moedas, 2016).
In addition, very interesting presentations where shared related to OpenScience and especially to FAIR data. SIGMA were present at the conference explaining how our experience with VIVO has allowed us to define our roadmap to improve the different SIGMA tools, such as our Expert Guide. Due to our participation as members in the VIVO governance we also had the opportunity to present the CERIF2VIVO project. This project is a collaboration between euroCRIS, VIVO and SIGMA that will allow the interoperability of both, CERIF and VIVO.
A fruitful meeting that has helped us to know different projects within the international community that encourage the search for a greater and more comfortable internationalization of research and project development systems.
