Last 27th of October, SIGMA received the visit of KIA (Kanagawa Information Services Industri Association) at our facilities in Sant Cugat del Vallès. Born in 1987, the Japanese organization is the only industry association of service information authorized in the governamental area of Kanagawa (next to Tokyo) and has more than 327 members.
To help management of the members, KIA holds events (meetings, business diners, executive meetings and seminars) to help members to exchange information. They also
release recruiting information through websites and holds meetings with schools to support member recruitment, exchanges information and negotiates with Kanagawa Prefecture Office and other administrative authorities, plans and implements seminars for free or at low cost to support members to improve technical level of their staffs and provide knowledge and research of advanced technologies and other topics of interest (Useware, PCs, public services systems, e-commerce, viruses, environmental problems,internship programs, etc.)
At the meeting SIGMA presented its business model as a non-profit organization group and its solutions SIGMA ACADEMIC and SIGMA RESEARCH for university and research management. It was also share the software as a service model (SaaS) model, on which SIGMA is working on since 2011. KIA mentioned that nowadays in Japan the management of every university is independent and they develop their own solutions on the academic scope. The attendees shown a great interest on the consortium model proposed by SIGMA.
Throughout the tour at our facilities, the KIA´s delegation visited our Learning Center where they coincided with the students of the last promotion. It was on that moment when our learning model and the recruitment process of new talents was explained, something that has allowed us to grow in recent years. They were kindly surprised about our Learning Center and how it gives the opportunity to young students to continue with their formation increasing the chances of landing their first job on the TIC field, either at SIGMA or other companies. The delegation highlighted the team youth and the fact that the company invested its own funds on the development of new IT professionals.
At SIGMA we want to express our gratitude to KIA´s delegation for visiting our facilities and for giving us the opportunity to get first-hand knowledge of a company such as Kanagawa Information Services Industry Association.
