SIGMA is interviewed at UPF with the CEO of ORCID, Laure Haak, taking advantage of his visit in Barcelona to present their universal identification code for researchers.
SIGMA organized, last Friday 6 September, the exclusive visit of Laure Haak, Executive Director of ORCID, to the UPF.
ORCID (www.orcid.org) is an open organization, non-profit and based on community effort, to provide a global registry of unique identifiers of researchers and a transparent method to link the activity and results of such researchers through their identifiers.
Taking the opportunity of the stay of Laure Haak in Barcelona, and a few hours before ORCID conference at the Institut d'Estudis Catalans, a meeting was formalized with the staff of the library and Computing Services at the UPF. He was also present SIGMA staff, moderating the meeting and Consol García, Responsible of Research Unity, Library of Baix Llobregat Campus of the UPC, which contributed to the organization and implementation of the agenda.
During the meeting at the Campus de la Ciutadella, UPF and SIGMA presented its model CRIS and their organization to identify researchers and their publication in different repositories. Meanwhile, Laure Haak presented the general model of collaboration options and good practices so far to advance the integration with ORCID identifiers.
