Today October 14, SIGMA has attended the event in which the 5th report “Global University Network for Innovation”, presented in the Modernist Campus Sant Pau.

Introduced by the President of GUNI and Chairman of ACUP, the Mayor of Barcelona, ​​the University Secretary, Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and the Chief, Universia Counselor event aims at sharing different perspectives of how you can contribute to social change through education, engagement and higher education.

GUNI is an international network founded in 1999 that has the support of three institutions: UNESCO, United Nations University (UNU) and the Catalan Public University Association (ACUP). More than 200 members belong, and it has presence in over 20 countries where it has conducted approximately 300 acts. 73 authors are involved in drafting the report.

In the course of the day has become a global and regional analysis where universities and society are linked together to meet challenges presented to us today. Knowledge is crucial and should be able to change reality with common sense. The role of education as an agent with the attitude to solve current issues and introduce possible solutions to overcome them is a clear goal that the education sector should be imposed.

Both the report and the many conferences have been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports; the City of Barcelona, ​​the Generalitat de Catalunya.
