SIGMA, once again, has participated in the EUNIS 2013 conference held in Riga (Latvia) 11 to June 14, which brings together representatives of European universities and consortia related to ICT in the higher education sector.
SIGMA has been actively involved with the presentation of three papers in different areas. We were presented, together with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the trends for the integration of academic management systems and eLearning platforms in an increasingly more open, with special emphasis on the emergence of the MOOC and growing presence of cloud solutions. Also unveiled the new version of the framework packaged SIGMA FS3 +, defined as a complete environment for the development, deployment and control of J2EE web applications, incorporating some high-level solutions for data mining and graphical report. FS3 + boosts productivity, quality and usability of the implemented solutions, besides enabling service-oriented and multi-tenancy SaaS deployments. Finally, we have presented the application for mobile devices PIZARRA which aims to transform the university community in a social network, offering main advantage of the automatic definition of stakeholders from the structures of teachers, students and subjects. PIZARRA was widely discussed in the forum of the Congress and won an important resonance in the official twitter EUNIS 2013. Also of note is the increasing involvement of the Task Force SIGMA RS3G to improve the mobility of Erasmus students participating in the initiative EWP (Erasmus Without Papers) with other consortia and European universities.
