SIGMA collaborates with CSUC on the Catalunya Research Portal project

Last October 6th, the Catalunya Research Portal (PRC) was launched. It gathers the scientific production of 11 Catalan universities, 8.750 researchers and over 400.000 publications. Among these universities are Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and Universitat de Vic, all of them SIGMA´s partners.

SIGMA actively collaborated with CSUC in the Exchange of data for the portal, making the first pilot using data from SIGMA´s universities. This was possible because SIGMA manages the data with a CERIF data model which is the same that has been used for the exchange of data. SIGMA is a pioneer in the use of this model and gave support to CSUC in this process.

On the portal it is published scientific production from researchers (personal data, commercial repositories ID´s, ORCID,…) as well as research groups, scientific production documents (magazines articles, books, chapters and thesis) and research projects.

The method used for the extraction of data will be useful for the universities in the future. They will be able upload scientific production from external researchers or send their own production to other research repositories that accept the CERIF format as communication standard between research databases.
