SIGMA starts 2014 with the incorporation of 4 new affiliated centers of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra
SIGMA concluded the addition of the following 4 new centers under the SaaS modality; the Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona (ELISAVA), attached to the UPF, the Escola Universitària Salesiana de Sarrià (EUSS), the Escola Universitària de Sant Pau (EUI Sant Pau) and the Centre Universitari de Disseny i Art (EINA), the latest ones, assigned to the UAB.
After the successful implementation of SIGMA system at the Tecnocampus and the Escola Superior de Comerç Internacional (ESCI) in the 2013-2014 academic year, ELISAVA is the third of the attached schools to the UPF that incorporates the use of SIGMA’s solutions.
ELISAVA offers Design Degrees, Industrial Design Engineering, Science and Technology Building Degree, and several Masters degrees and internal Degrees that have allowed to consolidate the design and engineering teaching over the last fifty years, becoming one of the leaders in the field.
During the second semester of 2013, SIGMA and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona worked to provide SIGMA’s solutions in SaaS modality to its assigned schools.
EUSS is an institution that teaches Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics and Automation, Industrial Management Engineering Gradesand also, a Master in Industrial Organization; aiming to provide a comprehensive and specialized development of future engineers.
EUI Sant Pau, also known as Escuela Universitaria de Enfermería del Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau, is an educational center committed with the training and teaching of the nursing profession. The aim of that institution is to consolidate its position as a quality and excellent benchmark in nursing education, for graduate and postgraduate levels.
EINA teaches a Degree in Design focused on the specialization and practice of the designer profession in the fields of graphic design, interior design and product design. That center also teaches a Master of Research in Art and Design, among other studies and diplomas and own masters, postgraduates and specialization courses. It is, therefore, another leader in the field of design.
All these schools will be granted access to several solutions of the SIGMA’s portfolio, mainly SIGMA SIS Student Information System and SIGMA Mobile, as well as integrations with eLearning platforms, Human Resources, Finance, Electronic Management and Identity Administration, in order to use SaaS modality for the 2014-2015 year.
The SaaS modality allows the use of solutions as a service while reducing investment and maintenance costs for final customers and users. At the same time, SaaS offers the possibility to use its human and physical resources to others institution objectives.
