During days 14 and 15 of July, the seminar called ‘’La universidad española como motor de Crecimiento y Empleo’’ was celebrated at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). The event was organized by the CRUE Universidades Españolas and was sponsored by the Banco Santander with the colaboration of Fundación CYD.
The main goals of the event were to promote changes in the way to measure up the Spanish universities. Exactly, it tried to promote the vision of the Spanish universities as referents regarding quality and value for the economy in terms of employment and economic growth.
The meeting analyzed all the university procedures of transference and knowledge divulgation, as well as the instruments that should be used for this transference, like the value and assessment of Spanish universities. Nationals and international experts participated during the conferences, as well as SIGMA.
The director of Institutional Relations of Santander Universidades España, qualified this events as the ‘’big summer university event’’, and recognized that ‘’the university is the most powerful tool for the economic development of any country, which justifies the strategic support of Banco Santander with this type of institutions’’.
