Yesterday, May 18th, was presented in Madrid the 4th edition of the RankingCYD, the biggest ranking of Spanish Universities. This ranking allows to identify the Spanish Universities and studies that better suit the student's needs. On this years' edition, the most complete to date, were analysed 17 areas for 1.714 studies in 69 of the 82 Spanish universities that integrate the Spanish university system
For the configuration of this ranking, 33 indicators of 5 main categories have been analyzed: Teaching and learning, Research, Transfer of Knowledge, International Outlook and Contribution to the Regional Development. The reason of the high number of indicators used, expects to be useful for everybody interested in a regional perspective.
Regarding to the results, 10 Autonomous Community make the Top 3 on every category analyzed:
- Teaching and learning: Aragón, Navarra, Castilla y León;
- Research: Cantabria, Cataluña, Galicia;
- Transfer of Knowledge: Aragón, Cataluña, Madrid;
- International Outlook: Cataluña, Madrid, País Vasco;
- Contribution to the Regional Development: Canarias, Cataluña, Extremadura.
If we take into account the results by university, 16 universities make the Top 5 on every category:
- Teaching and Learning: Autònoma de Barcelona, Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir, Navarra, Pompeu Fabra, Salamanca;
- Research: Cantabria, Jaume I de Castelló, Pompeu Fabra, Rovira i Virgili, Vigo;
- Transfer of Knowledge: Autònoma de Barcelona, Navarra, Politécnica de Madrid, Pompeu Fabra, València-Estudi General;
- International Outlook: Autònoma de Barcelona, Carlos III de Madrid, Navarra, Pompeu Fabra, Ramon Llull;
- Contribution to the Regional Development: Autònoma de Barcelona, Barcelona, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Rovira i Virgili, Sevilla.
