The Times Higher Education World University Ranking is considered the largest international publication. The ranking is made up of 980 top universities in the world and it is the only global university performance ranking to measure the following criteria: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
The ranking, published last Wednesday September 21st, includes 27 Spanish universities, five of which are partners of SIGMA AIE. Of these, the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra are on the top 200, being the best two Spanish universities ranked on the list, in the positions 163 and 175 respectively. The other three universities partners of SIGMA that made it to the list are the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, between positions 351-400, and the universities of Zaragoza and Carlos III de Madrid between 501-800 positions
For the first time in the 12-year history of the ranking, University of Oxford (UK) tops the list, replacing to California Institute of Technology (USA) who has been the leader of the ranking the last five years and is now in second position. The Standford University (USA) completes the podium holding the third position.
